I’m back from the blistering cold and enjoying some much needed sunlight in LA! That said, seeing these photos taken by the talented Lydia Hudgens during New York Fashion Week, make me miss Manhattan a little. It’s the only place in the country where you can deck to the nines in daylight and appear totally within reason. At least that’s what it’s like during two weeks of the year (Fall & Sept), when the world’s most stylish gather at Lincoln Center to watch future seasons of fashion unfold on the runway. As you saw in previous posts, my NYC ensembles were more about comfort & warmth, except for one GLAM day when I decked the halls with an embellished LBD from ASOS.
I’ve expressed my LOVE for double layered dresses (like this one) many times. As you can see above, the dress is broken up into two parts, almost as though they were separates, only they’re attached minus the bottom hem of the top section. Style-cons from the past, like Audrey Hepburn and Jacqueline Kennedy, sported the look back in the day. Not only does the look reference that iconic 60s glam, but it creates a flattering silhouette thanks to the division at the waist and the boxy cut of the top (flattering the stomach area).
